Q.

In the event we join The Factory Association, how many factory reports will we be able to request ?

A.

When you register as a Factory Association member you are Provided with "unlimited" factory reports. Factory reports are emailed, or faxed upon your "specific product request"

Q.

After we receive the first complimentary factory price report, are we required to join the membership?

A.

After you have received your free factory price quote You will be asked to join The Factory Association of worldwide members. The factory price quote includes factory price in china (FOB), the price at the destination Port you requested (CIF) - cost of product, shipping charges, insurance., packing information and critical information that will assist you in your decision whether to consider joining The Factory Association membership.

Q.

What does it cost to become a member?

A.

After you have received your free factory price report, You will be asked to join The China Factory Association. In order to receive further collaboration and support. Membership fees are as follows: your company may join the factory association by selecting plan (A) $330.00. (three months contact) or plan (B) $1056.00. (twelve months contract) and save 20% over plan (A). Fees are suspended for three months from your last factory order. All the services, advantages and benefits explained below are provided. In the event a factory order is placed with any factory within the factory association, membership fees are suspended up to one year from the last factory order.

Q.

How long must I wait to receive factory prices and Information after requesting information. Must we pay commission over the price quoted?

A.

Upon receipt of your product request, the China Connection will email, or fax your company direct factory prices in a matter of minutes. In the event the product is not in the database, a wait period of 3 to 7 days should be anticipated. No commissions are paid. The prices quoted are "Direct Factory prices & "Net".

Q.

We received a factory price of the product we are seeking. However, we find the price unacceptable. Are we able to negotiate the prices quoted?

A.

After you have received your free factory price quote, you have registered as a member of The Factory Association, have received confirmed samples, and require a lower factory price, The China Connection will negotiate with the factory (if possible) on the target price you require.

Q.

After receiving factory prices, do we make contact with the factory? Does The China Connection provide other services besides factory prices?

A.

The China Connection provides complete collaboration on all product requests. When orders are placed with each factory we will contact the factory, prepare the factory for production, and set delivery dates. The china offices will place the order with the factory, check quality control, set up delivery dates, and keep you informed throughout the importing process. Your company is assured of complete supervision as well as on time deliveries.

Q.

What about samples, before an order is placed! May we Order samples? How long does it take to receive samples from a Chinese factory ?

A.

All factories will be happy to send a specific sample upon your request. Each factory requires prepayment of samples. Normally samples are sent within 7 days after receipt of payment. Sample charges include express freight and sample cost.

Q.

Should we decide to place orders with a factory, what is the process, and to whom do we open Letters of Credit to?

A.

There are two methods of payment: your company may pay by Wire Transfer, (eliminating the costs of Letters of Credit), or you may elect to open Letters of Credit. The China Connection will fax you a L/C, or wire transfer guideline when you're ready to place orders with a factory. All letters of credit are at sight and transferable through The China Connection. Simply, your company will hand the L/C guideline to your bank. Your bank will follow the guidelines as requested. It's that Simple!!!!

Q.

If our company is working as a broker, and our customer wants to purchase through our company, how are we protected?

A.

We will sign a non- circumvention agreement which protects your company. The N/C agreement provides that we will not circumvent your company and deal with your customer without your knowledge. Your commission is included and protected. Most arrangements can be made at your request.

Q.

Are franchises available of The China Connection?

A.

Franchises are available in various countries worldwide, contact the China Connection for further information. The China Connection is a registered worldwide name. The name cannot be used without official authorization from The China Connection main office. Note: you are required to join the membership, and be an active member for six months, prior to Receiving franchise information.

Q.

We reviewed your product list, however we did not see a factory product we are seeking. Should our company want to produce a product of our own design, will The China Connection collaborate ?

A.

We will collaborate on all "R&D" projects. Your company is assured of confidentiality, as well as complete supervision, preparing samples and production on all specific product requests.

Q.

What quantities are required when orders are placed?

A.

Minimum order requirements: Container loads, depending on type of product. In any event a volume order is required.

If an order is placed, are we able to ship goods from China to a worldwide port of our choosing?

A.

The China Connection will ship to any major port requested. Prices quoted will include cost of goods, freight, insurance to the port requested (CIF)

Glossary & Terminology

LISTED BELOW ARE OFTEN USED "JARGON" (WORDS) THAT ARE USED IN THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE BUSINESS. IN THE EVENT A WORD HAS BEEN USED IN OUR WEB SITE AND YOU NEED CLARIFICATION, HERE IS A LIST OF WORDS WITH A BRIEF EXPLANATION.

LETTERS OF CREDIT: The form in which payments are made . A guarantee by a bank to draw against supporting documents when goods are put on board a vessel and shipped.


I.C.P.O: Bank endorsement stating customer has the financial ability to execute an order. A usual request when dealing in large transactions .


PROFORMA INVOICE: A pre-advise sales contract offered by factory with conditions of a sale. Usually sent after receipt of order from buyer.


PROFORMA ORDER: A purchase order supplied by the buyer with requirements and specifications that become part of the sale.

PERFORMANCE BOND: A guarantee issued by factory that they will deliver the merchandise which has been ordered and letters of credit opened. Usually a 2% bond are issued when dealing in very large quantities and dollar amounts.



F.O.B: "Free on Board" Term used referring to a price of product from Country of origin and at the port of departure on ship


C.I.F: "Cost, Insurance and Freight", term used referring to cost of products at the port of entry. Does not include customs duty, D.D.C. Charges.

D.D.C: Destination charges, or terminal charges for a container. Paid by buyer unless otherwise stated.


AMENDMENT: Correction made on Letters of Credit, usually involves added expenses and for the account of buyer.


CONTAINER:Used to transport products. Two sizes are available 20ft, and 40ft. A 20ft container has 1940 cu. ft. A 40ft container has 2118 cu.ft. Factories will accept less than container loads on certain products

CARTON MEASUREMENT: Size of carton or case. Usually in inches, or centimeters. To arrive at the amount of cartons that will fit in a container, multiply inches of box and divide by 1728 receiving cu. ft. Multiply by .028 to arrive at cu. meters.



PACKING: Manner in which carton is stuffed with products. Includes wrapping, and amounts in each carton.


TRANSFERABLE: Term used when a shipment will depart from a port on a certain vessel, and transferred to another vessel, prior to arriving at destination.


EXPIRATION DATE: Date letters of credit will expire.

PARTIAL DRAWINGS: Term used on a letter of credit which allows factory to ship goods in partial shipments. Prior agreement must be made by buyer and seller


O.E.M: Term used in production of goods manufactured under the name of the buyer. Usually demands large quantities by factories.


TELEX TRANSFERS: Payment made by wire transfer.


INLAND FREIGHT CHARGE: Goods transported from destination port to buyers warehouse. Not included in "CIF" price

CUSTOMS DUTY: Government fees for goods imported into a country. Prices quoted does not include customs duty in the "CIF" price



QUOTA: A limit that are placed by governments to protect manufacturers in the country from imports of certain products. If China factories have used up their quota, they must purchase a quota which increases the price of the product.


NON QUOTA COUNTRY: Countries that do not have quotas on chinese products and are not affected by quotas. South america, Mid East, Russia and certain several other countries may not be affected by quota.

STANDARDS, ELECTRICAL CODES: Many countries have electrical codes (NTSC, PAL, SECAM, UL) , as well as approval codes FDA, etc. Approvals must be obtained by factories to export
